WHO?

DEBORAH CINCOTTA is a writer, producer & founder of Double Cappuccino Productions. She has 15+ years of experience developing TV projects for Hollywood's leading networks and studios. She won the Hollywood Fringe Festival's 2023 Producer's Encore Award for her first theatrical show, "Good and Gaslit" and 4-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She is the author of the Substack newsletter, DoubleCapp+.

Her compass is set to tell modern stories with a strong female perspective. She starts every day with - you guessed it - a double cappuccino.

Deborah's entertainment career started in the Movies & Mini-Series Department at NBC before serving as Vice President of Television Development at Laurence Mark Productions (Walt Disney Studios), where she developed and sold movies to Showtime and ABC Family Channel. At Keyser-Lippman Productions (Sony-Columbia Studios), as Vice-President of TV & Film Development, she expanded her focus to broadcast drama series, overseeing the hiring of the writing staffs for "Party of Five" (FOX) and "Time of Your Life" (FOX), assisting the development and production of two network pilots (CBS & FOX) and serving as Associate Producer on the network run of "Time of Your Life" (FOX). During this time, Deborah helped launch the careers of several young, new writers (who would go on to become some of Hollywood's top leading female showrunners). Bravo women!

During the years in which Deborah stepped back from Hollywood to prioritize raising her children, she founded and launched an e-commerce startup (Totefish.com), co-chaired multiple elementary school & university committees, completed the first draft of a novel, and, in an attempt to address her fear of public speaking, joined the The Second City's Conservatory Improv program. Yes, and.

In 2017, Erica Messer, the longtime showrunner of CBS' "Criminal Minds" (and one of the writers whose career Deborah set in motion years back) asked Deborah to spearhead the launch of Erica Messer Productions, an ABC Studios-based TV production company. For the next five years, Deborah oversaw and ran all aspects of the company including the development and sale of multiple drama series to the studio + ABC network. Deborah continued to foster her reputation for being a strong advocate of and mentor to new writers.

In June, 2022, Deborah launched Double Cappuccino Productions. As a producer, she develops and produces TV + film + theater projects with writers interested in a strong partnership with a hands-on producer. As a writer, she writes original scripts for film + TV + theater and is available for select assignments. Her first two independent feature scripts were developed at Sundance Collab and her first TV drama spec pilot, OLIGARCHS, was named Winner in the 2022 Harvardwood Writers Competition. Her first theater project was the award-winning two-woman show, GOOD and GASLIT premiering at the Hollywood Fringe Festival & Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in summer, 2023.

She founded the Substack newsletter, DoubleCapp+, in 2024 with the intention to inspire, motivate, educate and spark joy in her readers. You can subscribe here
